You’ve heard the news, Justin Timberlake and Jessica Biel got married.
Yeah I heard it too and when I wailed out loud on Friday afternoon at my desk, my poor colleagues had to deal with my dramatic reaction. It may be a surprise to some of you that I’m a huge Timberlake fan, but my close friends and family know the extent of my “crush” on Mr. JT. It’s been an ongoing love affair for fourteen years.
I’ve stuck with him through bleached blonde hair and corn rows. I’ve also watched him stride with his solo career, bring sexy back (even though it never went anywhere in Reeder world) and crack me up on SNL.
But the day has come when he’s chosen to stand at the altar with Mary Camden, er um, Jessica Beil. I understand that this post might come off as silly to some of you, but I can tell you that I was genuinely sad about his nuptials. So I consulted my numerous cook books and then I saw it, the novelty book that I took home one day from work, Mrs. Lilien’s Cocktail Swatchbook. It was kind of like a blessing in a sense, because in a recent cleaning excursion, I found my long-lost cocktail shaker.
So I whipped up a Mrs. Fizz cocktail and read articles about their wedding. I looked at galleries of how their union came to be. As I’m writing this, I realize this is coming off as a really sad (and pathetic) Friday night, but I can promise you that the cocktail was delicious after a long work week and I came to terms with his marriage (that many assure me is only his “starter marriage”). So congratulations ‘ on your marriage and a sincere thanks to Kelley Lilieen who got me through it.
